For skiing enthusiasts, the Dorfgastein/Großarl ski area with 80 kilometers of slopes is located in the immediate vicinity. The other Gastein ski areas (Schloßalm, Stubnerkogel, Angertal and Sportgastein) can be reached in just a few minutes by car or by ski bus (stop in front of the house). The cross-country ski trail in Dorfgastein is also just a short walk away.
Families with children are very welcome here; we are a Gasticlub member, meaning you receive a 10% discount on children's ski school, children's ski kindergarten, etc.
TRADITIONS
Right in the middle of it all - part of traditions and festivals
Many traditional festivals and customs take place around Bleiwang in Dorfgastein. The annual village festival is the highlight of the summer in the town. Margreth has been serving her traditional liqueurs and schnapps specialties for over 30 years, for which she is known throughout the valley.
Another ancient custom is the Krampus run in Gastein on December 5th and 6th, where locals with self-carved wooden masks go from house to house in so-called groups with St. Nicholas and Krampus.
